Shankar Chaudhary and his supporters win Banas Dairy election unopposed

Palanpur: Banas Dairy Chairman and senior BJP leader Shankar Chaudhary has once again emerged as a giant of Banaskantha, as all 16 poll-bound seats of the Board of Director of Asia’s largest cooperative dairy  Banas  have been won by Chaudhary supporting-panel unopposed.

While opponent candidates on 15 seats including Parthi Bhatol had already withdrawn their nomination forms, Mavji Desai, the Vice President of Banas Dairy also withdrew his form today, paving a way for clean sweep victory of Shankar Chaudhary and his panel in the prestigious Banas Dairy election.

Polling for Banas Dairy was scheduled on October 19.

Chaudhary, a former minister in the Gujarat government is also Vice Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Bank. Chaudhary will now be able to focus at 8 assembly seats by-elections for which ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has made him a coordinator along with the State party vice president Bhargav Bhatt.

Chaudhary for the first time took over as Chairman of Banas Dairy in 2015 after winning 8 of 14 seats against the panel of rival Parthi Bhatol who controlled Banas dairy for  24 years but saw victory of his only 3 candidate in that election.
