AMC Standing Committee approves a new railway flyover, declares naming of community halls

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s Standing Committee meeting today took several decisions including a decision to construct Rs. 66.72 crore railway flyover at Jagatpur railway crossing.
According to Amul Bhatt, Chairman of Standing Committee, ‘the State government has decided to make cities free from railway crossings. As a part of this initiative, an approval has been given for construction of Rs. 66.72 crore railway flyover bridge over Jagatpur railway crossing. Railway department has approved 50 per cent sharing of cost in this project.’
Among other works approved today include resurfacing in Baherampura and Danilimda areas. Strom water gravity line interlinking of ponds in Vatva areas such as Vanarvat, Vatva Gam, Mahalakshmi and Babun ponds. Drainage network works in Shahnagar pocket of Shah Alam area and revamping works of Skating rink in Vasna area.
The meeting also decided to name Vadaj community hall after former Mayor Joitaram Patel, Vasna community hall after former Mayor Praful Barot, Baherampura party plot after former Standing Committee Chairman Badurrin Sheikh, Saijpur garden after late Naresh Nandoliya and Sitavan farm road in Bodakdev area after Jain Acharya Shri Jayghosh Suri Marg.
