Gandhinagar: Gujarat is going to witness polling for by-polls of 8 assembly seats in November 3. Opposition Congress party has today declared the names of candidates for five of these eight seats. They are Dr. Shantilal Sanghani for Abdasa, Jayantilal Patel for Morbi, Suresh Kotadiya for Dhari, Maganbhai Solanki for Gadhda and Kiritsinh Jadeja for Karjan. Congress is yet to declare the names of candidates for other three seats namely Limbdi, Kaprada and Dang. BJP has yesterday announced the names of candidates for 7 seats barring Limbdi. The last date of filing nominations is October 16. Some of Congress candidates whose names are declared today have already started canvassing. 8 poll-bound seats went vacant after then sitting MLAs of Congress party resigned ahead of four-seat Rajya Sabha election this year in the State. 5 of 8 Congress MLAs who resigned, joined BJP later. They are now candidates of BJP.
