Gujarat govt announces Rs. 356 crore cut in power bills

Morbi: The Government of Gujarat today announced cut in power tariff by 19 paise per unit. With this, existing fuel surcharge of Rs. 2 per unit will come down to Rs. 1.81. As many as 1.40 crore consumers including industrial, commercial, residential consumers in the State will have Rs. 356 crore benefit in present three months bill cycle (October-November-December), said Energy minister Saurabh Patel. He further said, this relief is linked to reduction in coal and gas prices. Minister Patel made this announcement at the venue of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s public meeting here. Morbi is going to witness polling for assembly seat by-election on November 3 along with 7 other seats. DeshGujarat
