Rail connectivity to Statue of Unity fame Kevadiya in two months: Minister

New Delhi: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said, Indian Railways will commission the Dabhoi-Chandod-Kevadiya Railway Project in next two months. It’s worth noting that the earlier target to complete the project was 31st of October this year. However, the project is running late. Once completed, Vadodara and Kevadiya Colony will be linked with railway. Initial speed of train to be introduced will be 110 km/hour but later it will be scaled up to 130 km/hour. Proposed railway station at Kevadiya will be located at five km distance from Statue of Unity, the tallest statue of the world.

Union Railway minister Goyal tweeted: Train Train to the iconic Statue of Unity very soon! Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s visionary leadership, Indian Railways will commission the Dabhoi-Chandod-Kevadiya Railway Project in next two months. This will connect Vadodara to Kevadiya, and further boost tourism in the region.
