Valsad: With Jitubhai Chaudhary’s victory in the State assembly by-election in Kaprada, Congress has been washed out from Valsad district of South Gujarat, as all five assembly seats in the districts are now with BJP. Kaprada, a tribal populated seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates. Jitu Chaudhary had won this seat as Congress candidate in year 2017 State assembly general elections by thin margin of just 170 votes. Just ahead of Rajya Sabha election this year, Chaudhary resigned from Congress and joined BJP later. As a BJP candidate he has won with record-break margin of 47,066 votes. Chaudhary enjoyed lead over rival Congress candidate in all 29 rounds of counting. With this victory, Kaprada has been won by BJP after 24 years. In last 57 years this is just second victory of BJP on Kaprada seat. Earlier BJP candidate Madhubhai Raut had won this seat in 1995.
