PM Modi to visit Zydus Cadila Pharma’s vaccine development facility in Gujarat on Saturday: Nitin Patel

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on single point visit to Gujarat tomorrow, confirmed Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel today while speaking to media persons here.

The visit will be two-hour long, he added.

Nitin Patel, who is also health minister of Gujarat further said that the Prime Minister will visit Zydus Cadila Pharmaceutical’s vaccine development facility near Ahmedabad.

The Prime Minister will later leave for Pune to visit Serum Institute of India (SII), he said. SII has partnered with global pharma giant AstraZeneca and the Oxford University for developing COVID-19 vaccine.

Zydus plant which is working on anti-Covid19 vaccine is located in Changodar area. A helipad facility has been set up close to the plant. The Prime Minister’s single-point visit is likely to take place during 9 – 11 am. He will arrive at SVPI airport in Ahmedabad in aircraft and reach Zydus facility in helicopter. DeshGujarat

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will embark on a 3 city visit to personally review the vaccine development and manufacturing process. He will visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune.

As India enters a decisive phase of the fight against COVID-19, The Prime Minister’s visit to these facilities and discussions with the scientists will help him get a first-hand perspective of the preparations, challenges and roadmap in India’s endeavour to vaccinate its citizens.
