Dr. Shamsher Singh appointed new Police Commissioner of Vadodara City

Gandhinagar: The city of Vadodara has got a new Police Commissioner. Dr. Shamsher Singh has been appointed as city police commissioner of Vadodara replacing RB Brahmbhatt.
When menace of illegal liquor trade and bootlegging was on its peak in South Gujarat and 21 persons were dead on hooch tragedy, then State government had moved Dr. Shamsher Singh as IG in South Gujarat range with assignment to burst the network. Dr. Singh had efficiently destroyed the network. His result-oriented performance was very much appreciated. Dr. Shamsher Singh has completed Ph.D. He is alumni of IIT Delhi. He is a runner with track record of participation in running events including Run the Rann event in which he completed a 161-km ultra trail run in Kutch in just 39 hours against the allotted 45 hours.
In other transfers, IPS Raju Bhargav has been made ADGP (Armed Units) in Gandhinagar. Outgoing Vadoara Police Commissioner RB Brahmbhatt has been made ADGP (Enquiries) in Gadhinagar with additional charge of ADGP (Human Rights).
