4 cases off Mutant Covid Strain detected in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Four cases of the highly contagious mutant strain of the coronavirus have been detected in Gujarat, State Health Ministry has informed. Those affected by the strain – first found in the United Kingdom – had arrived in Gujarat from UK. Their screening was done at the airport and samples were sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune. All four are kept in Amdavad Municipal Corproration (AMC) run Covid hospital at Sardar Patel institute under strict protocol, as new strain is highly contagious. Reports of 15 samples are still pending, as testing to detect Covid19 strain takes five to six days time. Those who were sitting close to affected passengers have been isolated. DeshGujarat
