26 members of Bichhu gang including gang leader Aslam Bodiyo booked under GUJCTOC

Vadodara: Vadodara Police has booked 26 gang members of notorious Bichhu gang under GUJCTOC (Gujarat Control of Organised Crime Act), a stringent law against organized gang. The gang is into organized crime since 1998. Crime Branch of city police has nabbed 12 gang members so far. One of gang members is in jail in two loot cases. One more is nabbed from South Gujarat but will be formally arrested after Covid-19 test. The gang is led by notorious criminal Aslam Bodiyo who is still at large. City police has formed different teams to nab him. GUJCTOC law has provision of a special designated court and public prosecutor. It has been used for the first time by Vadodara Police against Bichhu gang. 62 offenses have been registered against Bichhu gang leader Aslam Bodiyo since 1998, Crime Branch said in a briefing today adding that, one other gang member has 48 offenses against him. One has faced 17, another gang member has faced 20 offenses. These details were shared by Joint Commissioner of Police Koradiya.
