Gujarat govt takes decision to set up new GIDC estates

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has today announced its decision to set up new industrial estates of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) over 987 hectares land across 8 districts.
Among new GIDC estates, Jalotra in Banaskantha will cover marble cutting and polishing industry, Shekhpat in Jamnagar will house brass and ceramic units, Kadjodra in Gandhinagar will cover food-agro industry, Patan will have auto-ancillary units, Nagalpar in Rajkot will cover medical devices industry, Anand and Mahisagar will have engineering industries.
New GIDC estates will avail 2,570 plots of 500 to 2,000 square meter size to MSME sector and 337 plots of 10,000 to 50,000 square meter size to large inudstries. In full capacity, the new GIDC estates will offer total 20,000 jobs.
Five districts – Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodar and Ahmedabad will have 360 new multistory shades across 9 industrial estates. Existing GIDC estates at Dahej, Saykha, Ankleshwar, Halol, Sanand, Vapi and Lodhika will be developed as model estates with high-tech facilities.DeshGujarat
