Gujarat govt – Adani sign MoU to set up India’s largest multi-model logistic park at Virochannagar near Sanand

Gandhinagar: India’s largest multi-model logistic park will come up at Virochannagar near Sanand in Ahmedabad district. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today in presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, between the State government and leading private infrastructure company Adani Port & SEZ Ltd. MoU was signed by Additional Chief Secretary MK Das on behalf of the State government and Karan Gautam Adani on behalf of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd.

According to the details shared by the State government, proposed 1450 acre park will also have a dedicated air cargo complex with 4.6 km long runway to handle even large sized cargo aircraft.

Proposed park will offer direct air, rail and road connectivity. The park will have provision of direct rail connectivity with dedicated freight corridor which is part of the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor.

The park will be set up with estimated investment of Rs. 50,000 crore. It will have potential to generate direct/indirect employment for 25,000 persons. The project according to the State government will be completed in phased manner in next three years span. Works on this project will be started within six months after various clearances and permissions are obtained.

The park will have 90 lakh square ft warehouse zone with facilities such as air freight station (4.5 mt), grade-A warehouse, cold storage etc. The warehouse will have 38 lakh sqft space for textile, bulk, e-commerce and BTS, 9 lakh sqft space for bonder warehouse, 4 lakh grade-A palatized facility and 60,000 pallets temperature controlled palletized facility. Against 3.3 lakh capacity, a container yard in this park will have four handling lines with TEU(twenty ft equivalents). The park will have 3 lakh sqft business centre and skill development centre. In other cargo handling infrastructure, it will have steel cargo yard – 4 lakh mt, car yard – 30,000 cars, agri silos – 1 lakh mt, POL tank farm – 3.5 lakh KL and cement silos – 1 lakh mt).
