Rajkot: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed an incharge State Tax Officer in Rajkot for seeking and receiving Rs. 20,000 bribe.

The accused, Manoj Mansukhlal Madani, according to ACB, received bribe at Bahumali Bhavan based Vanijya Vera Kacheri (Commercial tax office) in Rajkot today.

An applicant was asked to pay bribe for release of refund and interest of Rs. 9.70 lakh payable in reference to tax paid for assessment year 2016-17. As applicant didn’t want to pay bribe and contacted ACB, following which a trap was set up by trapping officr Mayurdhwajsinh Sarvaiya, Inspector of ACB Police Station Rajkot under supervision of Assistant Director AP Jadeja.
