French minister Barbara Pompili visits Surat

Surat: French Minister Barbara Pompili was on a one-day visit to the city of Surat, the second largest city of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home-state Gujarat. Minister Barbara Pomili met with players involved in smart mobility and sustainable city projects including e-rickshaw.
Minister Barbara Pompili visited the headquarters of Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) and held meeting with Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani and other officials of SMC. She was given presentation on various projects of SMC. The minister also visited Command and control centre of SMC.

Later, the French minister took a sat in electric-run ‘Pink Auto’, an initiative of SMC for women empowerment, and reached Adajan based Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) facility. She boarded BRTS bus and visited Althan based Biodiversity park. She visited recreation park, wild valley, children park ,urban forestry theme park and had cycling.
The visiting minister also visited plastic recycling facility of ‘Eco Vision’ at Althan. Ambassador of France to India and other staff members of French embassy in India were also present during the visit. DeshGujarat
