Ahmedabad: A 19-year-old woman from Mumbai was allegedly raped on Valentine Day night in the city. She was in the city to work as a hostess at catering events. She was gang-raped by Sahil Shaikh, the catering contractor and his friend, Taskeel Qureshi, in the presence of Sahil’s girlfriend, Tanya Danawala at a flat in Akruti Township in Narol as per a complaint filed with Narol Police. While Sahil and Taskeel are from Juhapura, Danawala who has been arrested for abetment is from Surat. There were six other women, all catering workers, in the 1BHK flat at Narol, where the alleged offence occurred. However at around 11.30 pm, a victim woman was taken to bedroom by two accused where she was allegedly raped, while other girls were in the hall. The three accused and the victim had consumed alcohol in the hall. The victim as per the complaint passed out on sofa before she was raped.
