Covid19 positive/suspected voters to cast votes in the last hour

Gandhinagar: Covid19 positive voters will also be able to cast their votes but in the last hour of polling which is 5 to 6 pm. As per a guideline released by the State Election Commission, a day before polling, the nodal officers will get the details of Covid19 positive, suspected, quarantined persons and their booths. At the booths where pre-notified covid19 criteria voters will come and cast their votes, the Election Commission will make prior arrangements of proper number of PPE kits for election staff. In the last hour of polling, Covid19 positive, suspected, hospitalized, home quarantined, high risk contacts and the voters with high temperature will be able to cast their votes. The polling party will sanitize the voting machines after each such vote. In this last hour of polling, even regular voters will be able to cast votes.
