Vadodara: A 24-year old woman, resident of Narmada Nigam colony in Chhani Jakatnaka area has filed complaint in Fatehganj police station against her husband Tausif for beating her up and torture her over her refusal to convert to Islam after marriage. Police has booked Tausif under sections 498C, 506, 506(2), 504 and Gujarat Religious Freedom Act 2003(section 4).

A Hindu girl had wedded to Garasiya Muslim Tausif Rana, a resident of Nizampura in Kumbharwada in July – 2018 against wishes of her parents through registered marriage at Kuberbhavan. After marriage, Tausif took victim Hindu girl to Tundav village of Savli taluka at his brother’s place. After staying there for four months, both returned to Nizampura based Kumbharwada in Vadodara.

According to a complaint filed by victim girl, Tausif would pressurize her repeatedly to convert to Islam and adopt a Muslim name. As the girl refused to convert to Islam, Tausif started torturing, harassing and beating her up.

According to police, Tausif doesn’t do any job. He had also issued life threat to victim girl.Police is in search of Tausif. DeshGujarat
