BJP wins 52.7% votes in Municipality elections, Congress vote share 29.09%

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 2085 of total 2720 Municipality seats in recently concluded local elections, results of which have been declared today. 2085 out of 2720 is 76.65 per cent score, seat wise.

Against 2085 votes won by BJP, Congress has been able to win 388 seats. In other parties, AIMIM has won 17 seats, Samajwadi Party has won 14, Aam Admi Party has won 9, NCP has won 5 seats. Other parties have won 24 seats.

BJP won 52.7 per cent of total votes. Main opposition Congress party could attract 29.09 per cent votes.

BJP won nearly 50 lakh votes, while Congress could attract 27.5 lakh votes around.

Aam Admi Party has won 4.20 lakh votes followed by independents 320 lakh votes, other parties 2.32 lakh votes, BSP got around 48,000 votes, NCP 26,500 votes.

31 districts of the State went to election. All 31 district panchayats have been won by BJP with clear majority.
