Gandhinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, on the occasion of Women’s day today made announcement of Rs. 1 crore additional grant for each woman member of legislative assembly (MLA) for development works in constituency under the Road and Building department.

-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Gujarat is going to hold its parliamentary board meeting today evening to take decision on the names of new Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Standing Committee Chairman’s for six municipal corporation that recently went to regular elections.

-Minister of State for Home, Pradipsinh Jadeja today said that a 13 km long Sabarmati Riverfront will have three-layer security arrangements to prevent suicides. He said 15 scooters, 2 golf carts, 250 face scanning CCTV cameras, 20 police chowky, 2 speed boats with swimmers will be deployed to prevent suicides.

– Gujarat has recorded 555 new cases of Covid19 against recovery of 482 persons and death of one person in a day. 1,08,226 persons were vaccinated in the same period. The State has so far completed first dose vaccination of over 15 lakh people and second dose vaccination of over 3.57 lakh people. In 60+ and 45-60+comorbid group as over 89,000 persons were vaccinated in a day. The State has now over 3200 active cases. Among the cities, AMC area recorded 126 new cases, SMC 90, VMC 89 and RMC 35.

– Gujarat government has announced purchase of wheat at minimum support price (MSP) from 16 March. The purchase will continue till 31 July through 235 godown centres of Gujarat State Civil Suppl Corporation. The Government of India has fixed Rs. 1975 per quintal price.
