1.25 lakh recruited in the State government in last 3 years: CM Rupani

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani while speaking on the floor of the State assembly today said that his government conducts recruitment for vacant permanent posts in various departments of the State government through an annual calendar. In the last three years, the State government has recruited over 1.25 lakh employees, he added.
Rupani said, the Congress government in the past had suspended government recruitment in the State for seven years. He said, in case of requirement of more numbers of employees, the recruitment takes place through outsourcing. But even in cases of recruitment through outsourcing, the employees are given regular pay.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel in the curse of this discussion said, Salary of those employed through outsourcing is deposited in their accounts through escrow. The escrow account have been opened in 80 to 90 per cent cases and soon 100 per cent mark will also be achieved.
Patel said, more than 1.25 lakh youths have been employed in various departments such as health, education, police and panchayat. The agencies would earlier charge 12 per cent service charge on account of outsourcing, but that rate has been slashed down to 5 per cent now, which has resulted into saving of Rs. 10 crore.
