Bhavnagar: BJP councillor Varshaba Parmar was seen weeping in public after she was denied the post of the Mayor of the city. In a heat of moment, she also announced her decision to resign before the media. The BJP leaders were seen trying their best to prevent the media from capturing weeping Varshaba.
Varshaba with tears in her eyes told media persons, ‘it’s turn of general category councillor (for Mayor’s post), but someone from Other Backward Class (OBC) has been selected for the post. Jitubhai Vaghani (local MLA and former State BJP chief) had clearly told that in case some BJP candidate loses the election, the other BJP candidates in same panel even after their election, will not get even smallest committee level post. But now Jitubhai has only selected Kirtiben for the post of Mayor.’
Varshaba added that though she belongs to Kshatriya community, she is for all. She said the party has always made injustice to her.
The BJP earlier today announced the top office bearers for three of six municipal corporations including Bhavnagar, in which Kirtiben Danidhariya will become Mayor, with Krunal Shah as her deputy and Dhirubhai Dhamelia as chairman of Standing Committee.
