Next three India – England T20 at Narendra Modi stadium to be played without audience

Motera: Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), has taken a decision that upcoming three T20 international matches between India and England will be played without presence of audience in the Stadium. The decision has been taken in view of rising number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat. The State as per the latest bulletin issued by the Health department, recorded 890 cases of covid19 in a day. GCA had earlier decided to allow fifty percent audience during the match. GCA statement stated that refund will be given to those who have purchased tickets already. Refund policy will be declared later.

GCA statement: 

T20’s on March 16,18 and 20 will be played without audience at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Refund will be given to the spectators who have purchased tickets. Due to increasing number of Corona cases, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has decided to organize remaining T20 International Matches between India and England at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad behind closed doors. The GCA will refund the money to the spectators, who have purchased the tickets for T20Is scheduled on March 16, March 18 and March 20, 2021.

“Due to rise in the number of Corona cases, we at GCA has decided in consultation with BCCI, the matches will be played closed door and not allow the spectators in the ground during T20 Internationals to be played between India and England at Ahmedabad. We will form the policy for refund of money to the spectators, who have already purchased the tickets for these three T20’s. Those who have received complimentary tickets are requested not to visit the stadium.” Shri Dhanraj Nathwani, Vice President, Gujarat Cricket Association.
