Gujarat govt handover four ponds to AMC

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to handover four ponds, that are under the State government at present, to Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), without charging anything.
These four ponds are – Gaam talav (village pond) of Chenpur, Muthiya, Naroda, and Vinzol talav (village lake of Chenpur, having spread over area of 14,694 sq. mt., of survey no. 134 TP in Ghatlodiya taluka, lake having 41,278 sq. mt. located on block no. 01 at Muthiya village of Asarwa, village lake of 131,087 sq. mt. located on survey no. 493 of Naroda, Asarwa, and lake having 81,241 sq. mt. area, located on survey no. 363 at Vinzol in Vatva area).
According to a note released by the State government, the AMC will develop these ponds as permanent picnic spots. These ponds will be filled with recycled water, which shall improve the ground water level in nearby areas.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani led government has so far transferred 15 ponds to AMC for beautification.
