Poicha bridge connecting Vadodara and Narmada district shuts for a month

Vadodara: Poicha bridge connecting Vadodara and Narmada districts over river Narmada has been shut for traffic for a month due to repair work. The bridge had suffered damages due to tremor on 7 November 2020. Its settlement is scheduled to be repaired during 15 March to 16 April.
As per a public notification issued by district collector of Vadodara, vehicles on Vadodara to Rajpipla route will need to travel through Vadodara – Dabhoi – Tilakwada – Garudeshwar – Rajpipla route. This will add additional 20-30 km journey on this route for commuters. Sagwa chokdi-Rajpipla traffic will be diverted to Segwa-Dabhoi-Tilakwada-Garudeshwar route. For Rajpipla to Vadoara journey, the traffic will be diverted to Rajpipla – Garudeshwar – Tilakwada – Dabhoi – Vadodara route.
