Live: Dy CM Nitin Patel addressing media in Vadodara

Vadodara: Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel who is also Health minister of the State today visited the city of Vadodara to review the situation of Covid19 pandemic. The DyCM in video below is addressing media post his visit.

Highlights of Nitin Patel’s briefing:

– Along with Dhanvantari Rath that are already active, two camps will be organized in each assembly area of Vadodara under tents for speedy antigen testing.

– Four Atithi Gruh run by Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will be used as Covid Care Centre where mild symptomatic or suspected cases of Covid will be handled. Chai, nahsta, meals, medical care will be given in such Care Centres. This will create availability of hospital beds for those covid19 patients who need hospitalization.

– Some hospitals unnecessarily admit patients and keep them in hospital for longer to generate bills in the name of insurers and companies and show high occupancy of beds. And therefore a decision has been taken that a committee of expert doctors will visit hospitals and go through case papers, case history, reports etc to check whether genuine patients are admitted. Those found doing malpractice will face actions under epidemic act. Such committee will start visiting hospitals from tomorrow itself. A notification in this regard has been already issued by OSD Vinod Rao.

– The State government has decided that municipal commissioner and district collector if find requirement of more beds, they can reserve and occupy beds in private hospitals. In Vadodara, facilities of Dhiraj hospital and Pioneer hospital are being utilized.
