IPS Abhay Soni transferred from Amreli
April 04, 2021
Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today evening ordered transfer of Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) Abhay Soni from Amreli to Gandhinagar on vacant post of Battalion quarter master, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The decision has been taken apparently in connection with an incident in Amreli last evening in which Soni and his team allegedly thrashed BJP workers who were part of preparations for vaccination camp organized by party. The vaccination camp was inaugurated by Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil today.
BJP leaders including sitting Lok Sabha member of Amreli Naranbhai Kachhadiya and former minister Dilip Sanghani had alleged that DySP Soni, without any warning or questioning suddenly came and started beating up BJP workers with abusive words. Injured BJP workers have been hospitalized. Sanghani said he had spoken to Chief Minister over this. He alleged that police had worked to fail the BJP event against Covid19.
