Zydus hospitals makes Remdesivir injection Remdac available for just Rs. 899

Ahmedabad: Zydus Hospitals today in a statement said that Remdac, a Remdesivir injection from Zydus Cadila is now available at Zydus hospitals for Rs. 899 during 8 am to 8 pm between April 5 to April 12. Documents required for purchase include patient’s Aadhar card, recent RT-PCR report and physician’s prescription.
Meanwhile, number of people rushed to Zydus hospital’s basement-1 today during daytime to purchase Remdesivir injection Remdac from Zydus, which is the cheapest Remdesivir injection available in the market.
While all other Remdesivir injections in the market are available at cost in range of Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,400, it is Zydus that has made available it for just Rs. 899. Zydus has recently started supplies to Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Meanwhile, amid complains of non-availibiity and shortage of Remdesivir, the Gujarat government in a note stated that there’s no shortage of Remdesivir. The Government also released the rates of the injection listed above and clarified that if someone is found levying higher charges for injection, FDCA – Gujarat needs to be contacted for action.
Dr. Atul Patel, senior member of Gujarat government’s task force on Covid19 in an interaction told media persons that misuse of Remdesivir creates artificial shortage. He explained that in which case Remdesivir injection should be actually administered.
