Morbi to get RTPCR test lab, additional Remdesivir injections; CM after review meeting

Morbi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani who is on visit to Morbi and Rajkot to review the Covid19 pandemic situation today said a new testing laboratory will be set up at Morbi within 48 hours so that covid19 samples can be tested here itself instead of sending them to Rajkot.
Rupani said required machines, staff and infrastructure will be arranged within 48 hours and related orders have been already given to officials of local public hospital.
Rupani said the other issue was regarding lack of enough Remdesivir injections. The Government had yesterday sent 700 injections yesterday to Morbi and it will send another 700 injections by tomorrow.
Rupani said Morbi has sufficient medical oxygen supply at present but in view of urgent requirement, a social organization has been asked to set up mini plant for medical oxygen.
Morbi has 900-bed facility including 280 government beds. 500 new beds will be created for mild impacted patients through cooperation of private hospitals, trusts and communities.
35 health centres in the district have been permitted to add staff and infrastructure facilities.
After reviewing the situation of pandemic in Morbi, the Chief Minister left for Rajkot.
