Polling for Morva Hadaf assembly seat by-poll on Saturday

Gandhinagar: By-election for Morva Hadaf assembly seat of Gujarat will be held on Saturday on 17th April 2021, as declared by the Election Commission of India on 16th April 2021. The polling will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM and counting of the votes will take place on Sunday on 2nd May 2021 from 8 AM onwards.

The Number of total voters is 2, 19, 185 and polling will take place at 329 polling stations included in total 169 polling station locations. In this election, the maximum number of voters per polling station is kept 1000 rather than 1500, considering the covid-19 guidelines of Election Commission of India.

The election is for a reserved seat for Schedule Tribe (ST) candidates. Two out of total three candidates are females. The candidates are 1. Nimishaben Manharsinh Suthar (Bharatiya Janata Party) 2. Sureshbhai Chhaganbhai Katara (Indian National Congress), 3. Sushilaben Parshotambhai Maida (Apaksh)

Official of the Additional Director grade from the Health Department is appointed as State level nodal officer and appointment of district level nodal officer has also been made. Health Department has provided around 400 Thermal Guns, 3,650 N-95 Face Masks, 39,600 Disposable masks, 3,610 Face Shields, 3,550 Rubber Hand Glows, and around 2.25 lakh Polythene Hand Glows for the voters (one per voter) to the polling officers, considering the Covid-19 guidelines. 1,260 PPE Kits have been provided for polling parties and Covid-19 positive & suspicious voters.

All the polling stations will be sanitized one day prior to the day of polling. Facilities including Sanitizer, Soaps, water and Covid Help Desk will be available on each polling station. Mobile medical teams are also arranged for any medical emergency during the election. DeshGujarat
