6 who made and sold 5,000 fake Remdesivir vials by mixing salt, glucose and water nabbed in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Morbi Police, Ahmedabad city crime branch and Surat city crime branch have in a joint operation nabbed six persons involved in manufacturing of fake Remdesivir injections. According to Gujarat Police chief DGP Ashish Bhatia, a factory of manufacturing fake Remdesivir injections was located at Pinjrat based farm house in Olpad taluka of South Gujarat.

The accused were making fake injection by mixing water, glucose and salt. The accused have already sold 5,000 fake Remdesivir injections. They had plans to sell as many as 60,000 fake injection vials. Police has seized around 1117 fake Remdesivir vials from the house of Mohammad Asif and Ramiz Kadri in Juhapura in Ahmedabad along with Rs. 70 lakh cash. Police has also seized 55,000 fake Remdesivir bottles and 30,000 fake Remdesivir stickers that were made in Mumbai.

Accused would sell fake Remdesivir injections in price range of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000.
