Five aircraft suffer minor/non-structural damages at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: Three IndiGo aircraft and two Go Air aircraft sustained minor/non-structural damages after Ahmedabad airport was hit by a thunderstorm last evening. This impacted all airlines’ aircraft were parked there. The planes according to sources were parked side by side at some distance, but due to 40 km/hour strong wind they slid. An aircraft ladder also suffered heavy damage due to strong wide and thunderstorm. The city had received average 1.5 to 2 inch rains last evening (June 16). Meanwhile an Indigo flight to Ahmedabad was diverted to Jaipur, while two flights were diverted to Surat due to Thunderstorm in Ahmedabad.
