A person in Kheda donates 111 TV sets for home-learning during pandemic

Kheda: A teacher named Vishalbhai Parekh from Chhapra Village situated in Mahemdabad, Kheda facilitated 111 television to needy students of the village for educational purpose during Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Under the ‘Home-learning’ program run by the State Government, students are provided education through smartphones and televisions and educational programs were broadcast on DD Girnar channel from 15th June 2020. Vishalbhai Parekh observed that many children from financially weak sections in rural areas didn’t have smartphones and television at their homes and they were unable to access the educational programs due to the same. He collected donations and also used his own finance to facilitate television to the students. His target at initial stage was of ten televisions but he later facilitated a total of 111 televisions to rural children.

In addition to that, he also facilitated basic essentials such as groceries, clothes, blankets, utensils and financial assistance for marriages to the needy people through the donations. Officials of District and Taluka level appreciated these noble activities and BRC Co-ordinator Dipakbhai Suthar (Kheda District) provided his support in the activity of facilitating televisions.
