Jio adds over 5.20 lakh users in March Gujarat: Trai data

Ahmedabad: Gujarat’s largest telecom operator, Jio added over 5.20 lakh mobile users in March 2021. The telecom regulatory, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) released March 2021 mobile subscription numbers, which reveals that Jio continuous to be the largest operator in the country and Gujarat state.

With addition of 5.20 lakh users in Gujarat, Jio total number of subscribers increased from 2.56 crore in February to 2.61 crore in March. With this growth, the customer market share of Jio is 37.68%

After several months, it is observed that all four telecom operators have posted positive growth in addition of net subscription. Total number of users in Gujarat increased by 8.10 lakh in March in Gujarat from 6.85 crore in February to 6.94 crore in March.

After Jio, Vodafone Idea is the second largest in adding new users. The operator added 1.71 lakh users and increased its subscription from 2.50 crore in February to 2.52 crore in March. Vodafone Idea’s customer market share stood at 36.28%.

The third largest telecom operator in the state, Bharti Airtel’s customer market share is now 17.43% after adding 1.10 lakh users in the state. The total mobile subscribers of the operator increased from 1.19 crore in February to 1.20 crore in March.

The state-owned telecom operator, BSNL added over 8,000 users and increased its subscriber base from 58.98 lakh in February to 59.06 lakh in March. The customer market share of the operator is 8.51%.

As per Trai’s report, national too Jio gained over 79 lakh, mobile users, in March, surpassing the combined net adds by rivals Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea during the month. While Bharti Airtel added 40.5 lakh, wireless users, Vodafone Idea gained 10.8 lakh customers during March, as compared to the previous month.
