Three Aahar Kendras to ensure no one in Ahmedabad goes to sleep hungry

Ahmedabad: In a new private initiative, three Aahar ( free meals ) Kendras are being set up in the city that will serve simple but pure and quality food to the needy. The Aahar Kendras aim to feed 3,000 persons per day initially, but the number is planned to be gradually increased to 5,000 per day.
Girish Dani, a key person associated with this initiative along with local Vaishnav temple said, “Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of Adani Group, is extending its support to the Aahar Kendras. The Amdavad Municipal Corporation has allotted space at Vastrapur, Paldi, and Vadaj for setting up the Aahar Kendras. This initiative is not limited to Covid-19 epidemic period. It is on permanent basis”.
The first such Aahar Kendra has been launched at Vastrapur. Dani said a dish includes one vegetable, rice and dal.
Food distribution will be undertaken at the Aahar Kendras in compliance with social distancing and other norms. The use of caps, aprons, and gloves will be mandatory for cooks and other personnel deployed at the Aahar Kendras. DeshGujarat
