Mehsana: Police has finally arrested Ashaben Thakor, former chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy, Mehsana in the case of adulteration of Ghee. The crime was registered last year against her for the adulteration in Ghee recovered from a plant of Dudhsagar Dairy in Punha, Rajasthan.

The police nabbed Ashaben Thakor and took her to Visnagar after the procedure of Covid-19 test. Earlier, police had arrested the accused including the former Managing Director and laboratory technician of the dairy in this case.

Gujarat Milk Co-operative Federation and Food and Drugs Department had collected samples of Ghee for investigation last year in response to the complaints received, and confirmed the adulteration of Palm Oil in ghee. Total 600 metric ton ghee stored in dairy’s godown was worth Rs 40 crores approximately. An offence was registered against Former Chairman Ashaben Thakor, Former Vice-chairman Moghji Desai, MD Nishith Bakshi and Laboratory Head Alpesh Jain. DeshGujarat
