Vadodara Police nabs international drug dealer from Hong Kong

Vadodara: Vadodara Police has brought back an International Drug Dealer to the city from Hong Kong through extradition. The accused had escaped from police custody in 2011 from Vadodara.
Drug Dealer Xie Jeng Pang alias Richard and two others Gunashekharan Pillai and Ravindra Karappa were arrested by Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) with methamphetamine drug worth Rs. 12 crores in their possession on 22nd November 2008.

Later, the three were sent to Vadodara central jail. On 24th April 2011, Richard was brought to SSG Hospital in Vadodara for medical treatment from where he had escaped from the custody. He later went to Nepal and fled to Canada from there where he managed to get a bogus passport. He then travelled to Hong Kong through fake passport. He was jailed in Hong Kong for 4 years and 4 months in a money laundering case in 2012.
The trial in narcotic case against Richard is pending as he had escaped custody when he was an under-trial prisoner. As informed by police sources, Richard has origins in China but holds Canadian citizenship and his wife and children reside in Canada. DeshGujarat
