AAP convoy attacked in Leriya village near Visavdar

Junagadh: Aam Admi Party (AAM) cadre today made viral a video and claimed that AAP convoy of cars was attacked in rural Junagadh district near Visavdar at Leriya village. An AAP cadre is seen blaming ruling BJP for attack over AAP convoy in a video.

A video contains scenes of broken windows of a car in which AAP leader Mahesh Savani, Isudan Gadhvi and Pravin Ram were travelling. In video, an AAP cadre is seen saying that in the name of Brahmins, the attack is being done by BJP.

Savani in the evening told media persons that AAP had demanded police protection for a programme today in a village near Visavdar. Savani said the attack was done using steel pipes and stones. He said three persons suffered injuries. Savani said he demands accused to be booked under IPC section 307.

AAP leaders are facing anger of groups belonging to Hindu and particularly Brahmin community over AAP Gujarat chief Gopal Italia’s “anti-Hindu” remarks, videos of which are viral. Recently when Italia, Gadhvi and others went to Somnath Mandir, they had faced protest from Hindu – Brahmin community. Italia however was not part of today’s convoy that came under attack. Various local organizations had prior to AAP progamme earlier this week, in a letter to district police chief and collector warned for such protest.

Meanwhile, participating in a TV debate show, BJP media panelist Shraddha Rajput alleged that it seemed a publicity stunt by AAP to attract publicity as the party has no issue. She alleged that AAP would also stage shoe hurling, black ink on face and other tactics to attract attention of the people. She said, the State has various players like Congress, independents, other parties, but it has never seen such a low level of politics. Gujarat has been a peaceful state but no surprise that with AAP in picture, more such incidents could be seen in time to come. She said, the incident should be probed and those responsible should be booked.
