Ahmmedabad: Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat Police in a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh State ATS arrested Salauddin Sheikh from Gujarat in connection with UP religious conversion case.
Investigation has revealed that funding to Uttar Pradesh religious conversion case accused Umar Faruq was done by Salauddin.
Salauddin had sent money through hawala for which he had made three to five transactions. Salauddin is associated with a United Kingdom based Trust Al-Fatah. He received funds through FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) from his parent organization for medical and women welfare activities in Vadodara district.
It is revealed that he had illegally diverted this fund to Umar Faruq for conversion activities.
Uttar Pradesh Police’s anti-terrorist squad (ATS) has registered FIR against two Delhi-based clerics, who are accused of “forcefully” converting scores of people to Islam.
