Cow beef transporters, aides attack police in Central Gujarat; 41 booked

Kalol: Police have registered a crime against 41 attackers and 50 to 60 unknown people of mob for stone-pelting on the Vejalpur police who were raiding cow beef transporting in Vejalpur, Kalol on Thursday.

Vejalpur police had raided and found a car filled with cow beef on the plot area of Ghusar Road on Thursday. Two accused named Irfan Padva and Farooq Padva were carrying cow beef in a car after slaughter of the cows at the house of Farooq Majeed Padva. Irfan and Farooq escaped from the car after seeing the police. When police were bringing their car filled with Cow-beef to the police station for further investigation, Irfan and Farooq came across them with swords, iron pipes and other people. They started pelting stones on the police and broke the siren light and glasses of the side light of the police car. It also caused normal injury to the police sub-inspector accompanied with Vejalpur police staff in the car.

Then, Vejalpur police asked District Police for help after reaching the police-station. The attackers had escaped along with the car filled with cow beef when the district police reached the site. Crime is registered against 41 accused and 50 to 60 other attackers and further investigation is started through a search operation by police.
