Those into commercial activities must get covid vaccine by July 31, a special drive for them on next Sunday: Nitin Patel

Gandhinagar: All those involved into commercial activities will need to take covid vaccine dose on upcoming Sunday in Gujarat, said Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel who is also Health minister of the State. Vaccine doses will be administered across all 1800 vaccination centres in the State this Sunday only for this class (businessmen and their staffers). As per a decision taken by the State cabinet, those into commercial activities (business, trade, commerce, industry) will need to take vaccine by July 31st as per the notification by the State Home department, Patel said.
The Government of India has allocated additional doses of covid vaccines to Gujarat in response to its request, said Health minister Nitin Patel today. He said, as on 22nd of July, Gujarat government has 15.18 lakh covid vaccine doses available. In addition to this, daily 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh vaccine doses continue to arrive in Gujarat. As per ongoing practice, the State covers daily 3 to 4 lakh persons in vaccination programme. The State takes break in covid vaccination programme every Wednesday and Sunday. However this Sunday, vaccination programme will continue in order to cover maximum number of those involved in commercial activities for whom the current deadline of getting vaccine is July 31st.
