Gujarat Police to have a special facility for retired Police dogs

Anand: The State Police Department of Gujarat will start a special unit for the retired police dogs at the headquarter of Anand district. This unit will be inaugurated at the hands of the DGP of the state on 25th July.
Total 15 retired police dogs of the state will be brought here initially. Adequate care of these police dogs will be taken and their health check-up will be done every 15 days. MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with veterinary college will be done for this unit.
It will be the first unit for retired police dogs in the state and the second unit in India after Meerut. Currently, 143 police dogs are on duty in the State Police and 24 police dogs have retired. DeshGujarat
