Gujarat govt slashes rates of RTPCR and HRCT tests at private laboratories

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has slashed the price of RTPCR test for covid-19 in private facilities to Rs. 400 when sample is collected at laboratory premises, against earlier rate of Rs. 700. RTPCR sample collection by laboratory at hospital or residence will cost Rs. 550 instead of earlier rate of Rs. 900. At airports, the urgent test price for Covid-19 has been slashed from earlier Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 2,700 now. HRCT test price at private facilities has been fixed at Rs. 2,500 against earlier price of Rs. 3,000. These all tests are free at government facilities. These details were shared by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel who is also Health minister. Patel announced purchase of 17 new CT scan machines in district hospitals and medical colleges for which procedure has started. Three MRI machine purchases are also approved by the State government.
