Centuries old temple vandalized to dig out treasure

Surendranagar: Around 1200-year-old shiv temple in Jamwadi village of Thangadh taluka in Surendranagar was vandalised with the intention of finding a treasure.
The ancient shiv temple situated at five kilometers distance from Thangadh taluka in Jamwadi village was vandalized by unidentifiable people during dark. They dug the surface after removing the Shiv-ling and Nandi idol in the temple.
Police and the mamlatdar team arrived at the spot after knowing about the incident and started investigation. It is estimated that the excavation was done due to myths about the treasure under the temple.
