Speculations rife regarding successor of Hariprasad Swami

Vadodara: Speculations are rife among followers regarding who would lead Yogi Divine Society and Atmiya Pariwar branch of Swaminarayan sect after passing away of Haridham Sokhada fame Hariprasad Swami. A decision is likely to be taken soon after last rites of Hariprasad Swami, which is scheduled on 1st of August. It is also learnt that Hariprasad Swami had suggested the name of his successor when he was alive.

Two names that are being discussed as successor are Premswarup Swami and Tyagvallabh Swami. Premswarup Swami was appointed as Kothari of Haridham Sokhada by Hariprasad Swami. Tyagvallabh Swami is successfully looking after Rajkot based Atmiya University and managing other educational institutions of Atmiya Pariwar.

Meanwhile in reply to a query by media persons, Tyagvallabh Swami said, ‘the decision on successor will be taken in a meeting of saints. There’s no name in discussion at present. I am a small servant.’

Yogi Divine Society and Atmiya Pariwar organizations are around six decades old. Hariprasad Swami separated from Bochasanvasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha (presently) after passing away from his Guru Yogiji Maharaj in 1960s. DeshGujarat
