But it is lesser known that the song was originally sung by Gujarat folk singer Kamlesh Barot from Halol in Panchmahal district of Central Gujarat.
Due to viral video of small boy in Chhattisgarh, Kamlesh Barot’s original video has now started getting sudden popularity and has over 5.3 million views.
Barot has been singing folk songs and is particularly known for his ‘Timli’ songs.
Barot told media persons that he had sung ‘Sonu meri darling’ sometime in 2017-18. It was posted on Youtube by the production house in 2019. Barot added that in many ways his situation was similar to that of the boy. Barot said that his song that was once lost was going viral again. “This proves that if you do good work, it will stand out someday,”
