Alignment of Surat – Nashik greenfield highway finalized; Works to start this year: Gadkari

Gandhinagar: Union Road and Transport minister Nitin Gakdari today said that alignment for construction of Rs. 2,488 crore Surat – Nashik greenfield highway has been finalized and the works on this 128 km project are to be launched this year.

It’s worth noting that proposed stretch will further connect to networks of existing as well as greenfield highways and offer speedy transit between Surat and Chennai.

Gadkari also announced start of works on Sanchore – Ahmedabad greenfield expressway project this year. Proposed 210 km long highway will cost Rs. 6,000 crore he said.

He said, the Prime Minister will perform ground breaking of Amritsar – Jamnagar economic corridor project. The 1,316 kilometer road between two major urban centres of the north and the west will connect three big refineries of Bathinda, Barmer (Pachpadra) and Jamnagar.

Gadkarai said the government is going to start Rs. 25,370 crore works in length of 1080 km under Bharat Mala programme.
