Bhavnagar: The administration has decorated Bor Talav of Bhavnagar with lighting for the celebration of welcoming the Narmada river’s water entering Bor Talav lake today.
The water from Narmada entered Bor Talav in Bhavnagar today on 7th August. The decoration using lights is done from Akhlol Jakatnaka to RTO circle. The colorful lights are set-up at Thapnath Mahadev and Bal Vatika along with Bor Talav. The Bor Talav was filled with water by pumping water from Vikaliya pumping station last night.
The government has spent Rs. 147 crore to supply water to Bor Talav via 53-km Vikaliya – Bor talav pipeline. With arrival of Narmada water in Bor talav, the issue of shortage of water in Bhavnagar is solved for now. Full of water, Bor talav will help to lift the levels of underground water. Bhavanagar Municipal Corporation will now need to lift lesser volume of water from Mahi Pariyej scheme and save Rs. 10 crore on that account. DeshGujarat
