ACB Gujarat nabs Sarpanch, her husband and two relatives in Rs. 5 lakh bribe case

Bhuj: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed the sarpanch of Kukma village in Bhuj, her husband and her two relatives in a bribe case of Rs 5 lakhs.
The accused Sarpanch Kankuben Amratbhai Marvada had asked a bribe of Rs 5,00,000 from the complainant for granting approval to the construction work of a mines and minerals company in the village. The complainant is handling revenue related works of this company. The sarpanch had accepted the amount of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant and later asked the complainant to pay the remaining amount to her husband and member of gram-panchayat Amrutbhai Becharbhai Marvada and her relatives Ravjibhai Achubhai Boricha and Riteshbhai Ravjibhai Boricha.
The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the remaining bribe of Rs 4,00,000. The Sarpanch’s husband and her other two relatives were found accepting the bribe on behalf of her during execution of a trap by ACB. ACB has detained the sarpanch’s husband and other two relatives and further actions are to be taken.
