Gandhinagar: Junagadh district has received massive 11 inches plus rainfall between 6 am to 2 pm today. Kalavad in Jamnagar has received nearly 10 inches of rains during this period. Most parts of Rajkot districts including talukas of Lodhika, Rajkot city, Dhoraji, Kotdasangani, Gondal, Jamkandorna, Upleta, Paddhari, Jetpur received heavy rains upto 7.3 inches. Water logging, flooding, suspension of transportation can be seen across these areas. Daily life is affected on the opening day of the week. Three State highways in Jamnagar and 1 each in Amreli and Porbandar are inoperative due to overtopping of flood water. Barring temporary troubles, the heavy rain is considered good as it has filled majority of dams in this rain-deficit region.
