Rs. 100 crore trade achieved during WeaveKniTT exhibition in Surat: Organizers

Surat: The trade of over Rs 100 crores between the traders and weavers took place at WeaveKniTT Exhibition organized at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) in Sarsana, Surat from 11th to 13th September.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Centre had organised this 3-day exhibition as a pilot project to exhibit various kinds of fabrics produced in Surat. The SGCCI president Ashish Gujarati and chairman of WeaveKnitt exhibition committee Mayur Golvala informed that a trade of more than Rs 100 crores took place between weavers and traders in the 3-days’ exhibition and the weavers received a number of orders. Traders and weavers have requested to arrange such exhibitions twice a year, they added. Around 23 thousand visitors visited this exhibition.
SGCCI president Ashish Gujarati informed that majority of the traders out of 65 thousand textile merchants based in Surat city visited WeaveKniTT exhibition. The buyers from the 20 large textile markets of the country such as Jaipur, Banaras, Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai and buyers also from UK, Dubai and China visited the exhibition.
